Open or enclosed?

Open transport costs less and is fine for everyday cars, workshop runs and short distances. In an enclosed transporter your car travels fully protected and out of sight.

The price difference is modest: in the region €129 open and €179 enclosed, from Hamburg to Wedemark (approx. 150 km) around €328 open and €403 enclosed.

Once enclosed transport is agreed, it stays agreed, even if a partner company drives. A different type of transport only with your consent.

Pick-up point and destination, vehicle, approximate value and preferred date. Let us know whether the car is driveable and how low it sits.

Quote and date

You receive a binding quote with a fixed date or time window and the insurance cover for your transport.

Loading

Careful collection with keys and documents, loading via low-angle ramps and load securing that suits the vehicle.
Step 04
Handover

Punctual handover at the destination, in Germany, in the EU or, by arrangement, worldwide.

Safety

Insurance for enclosed transport

We set out the insurance cover for your transport in our quote, so you know exactly what is covered beforehand.

Important for valuable cars: statutory liability under a contract of carriage is limited, usually to 8.33 special drawing rights per kilogram. That is not insurance at the full value of the car. Please tell us the value of your car. On request we arrange additional transport insurance, with scope, excess and cost stated in advance.

Loose or personal items only travel with the car if agreed beforehand. Please empty the car before handover. Details are in our terms, § 10.

We charge the distance from pick-up to destination. If both are outside the region, the approach beyond 60 km is added at €0.49/km. Tolls, ferries and overnight stays abroad at cost. Questions about enclosed transport

How much does enclosed car transport cost?

In the region around Wedemark €179 up to 30 km and €249 up to 60 km. For long distances it is a €149 base fee plus €1.69/km in Germany, or €249 plus €1.79/km elsewhere in the EU. Examples: Hamburg–Wedemark around €403, Munich–Hanover around €1,214. All prices and surcharges are in the price list.

What is the difference between open and enclosed transport?

With open transport the car stands on an open trailer. In an enclosed transporter it is fully protected from weather, stone chips, salt and prying eyes. For sports cars, classics and new cars we recommend enclosed.

Do you transport very low sports cars?

Yes. Using low-angle loading ramps we also load cars with very little ground clearance. Ideally tell us the model and any lowering when you enquire.

How is my car insured during transport?

We state the insurance cover in our quote. Statutory liability under a contract of carriage is limited (usually 8.33 special drawing rights per kilogram) and is not insurance at full value. Please tell us the value of your car; on request we arrange additional insurance with the cost stated in advance.

Do you collect cars abroad?

Yes, throughout the EU at fixed per-kilometre prices. Tolls, ferries and overnight stays abroad are charged as receipted. Outside the EU we organise import and export on request, worldwide, with a separate quote for shipping, customs and insurance.

How quickly can the car be collected?

The date or time window is set out in the quote. If it is urgent, we collect the car as an express job within 48 hours, with a 20% surcharge.

What do I need to prepare before the transport?

Have keys and documents ready and empty the car. Let us know beforehand whether it is driveable: cars that are not driveable are loaded with a winch (€49 surcharge).

Can I combine the transport with other services?

Yes. Combined with car sourcing, a pre-purchase inspection or storage, you get 10% off the transport. On request we hand the car over freshly detailed or coated.
